<h3>Dentsu acquires IvyCap-backed data analytics firm Sokrati</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/dentsu" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Dentsu Aegis Network Ltd</a> has signed an agreement to acquire a 51 per cent stake in<a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/ivycap" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> IvyCap</a>-backed data analytics and performance marketing firm Sokrati Technologies for an undisclosed amount.
&#8220;After the acquisition, Sokrati will be rebranded as Merkle | Sokrati. With this acquisition, the Group intends to accelerate its growth strategy in the Indian market through collaboration with other Group companies,&#8221; the company said in a release.
In August 2016. Dentsu Aegis  acquired a majority stake in US-based performance marketing agencies Merkle Group.
The acquisition of Pune-based Sokrati will launch Merkle into the key Indian market, thereby contributing to The Dentsu Group&#8217;s corporate marketing activities based on data analysis. Moreover, the number of the Group&#8217;s employees in India will now reach 3,500, among which 1,500, or 40%, will be digital professionals, said the company.
In 2015, Sokrati Technologies has raised a series B round of funding led by IvyCap Ventures which had present investor Inventus Capital also participating. The company had raised a series A undisclosed funding in 2011 from Inventus.
<h3>Bird Group acquires third hotel in Britain</h3>
New Delhi-based Bird Group, has acquired its third property in Britain by buying the Villa in Bath, UK, for an undisclosed amount, according to a Times of India <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/bird-group-acquires-uk-boutique-hotel/articleshow/59779258.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">report</a>.
Bird Group, which owns Roseate Hotels, also owns Royal Park and Forbury Roseate in Britain. It has bought the 21-room property from Kaleidoscope Collection.
&#8220;Bath is an important market for us as it is one of the most visited cities and is amongst the major UNESCO world heritage sites,&#8221; said Bird Hospitality Services&#8217; director Ankur Bhatia.
The group, which also has interests in travel services and luxury retail, owns two hotels in India, and another three are under various stages of development.
