<h3>Student housing startup Placio raises $2m from Prestellar Ventures</h3>
Student housing startup Placio has raised $2 million in its pre-Series A funding round from Singapore-based investment firm <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/prestellar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Prestellar Ventures</a>, according to <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/startups/newsbuzz/student-housing-startup-placio-raises-2-million/articleshow/62819914.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a report</a> in The Economic Times.
Founded in 2016, the Noida-based startup plans to use the funding to support its growth in India and South-East Asia. &#8220;Placio will also leverage on the network and experience of the fund in redefining student hostel hospitality sector by increasing the existing capacity 20 times this year,&#8221; it said
&#8220;The company has been able to grow its footprint so far with limited resources and we hope to provide the company with capital and our in-house platform for its next phase of exponential growth,&#8221; said Rabindra Shrestha, Managing Partner of Prestellar Ventures.
<h3>Shape India raises $200k in pre-Series A round</h3>
Physical education organisation Shape India has received an investment of $200,000 in a Pre-Series A led by Sandeep Mathur, Ex CEO of Oracle, India.
With this investment Shape India plans to expand its reach and take the e-learning modules to a larger audience in other cities in India. It also plans to use the funds for technological innovation, according to a statement.
&#8220;We will aim for Shape to reach out to a wider audience and this type of scalability can be brought through technological disruption. I am looking forward to adding more value through my own experience leading a large tech conglomerate,&#8221; said ex managing director, Oracle India, Sandeep Mathur.
<h3>Furlenco raises $1.5m debt</h3>
Online furniture renting startup <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/furlenco" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Furlenco</a> has raised Rs 10 crore ($1.5 million) from a clutch of angel investors, according to<a href="https://paper.vc/furlenco-now-backed-by-mafatlals-and-hetero-group" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> a report</a> by Paper.vc.
According to the report, Furlenco got the debt from Rekha Hrishikesh Mafatlal of Arvind Mafatlal Group, Lakshmi Narayanan &#8211; Ex-Vice Chairman of Cognizant, and M Krishna Sindhuri Private Trust.
In December, the Bengaluru-based startup reportedly raised about Rs 2 crore from Bollywood actor Amir Khan.

In 2017 alone, Furlenco raised ₹62.7 Cr from both current and new investors. Of this raise, venture debt provider Trifecta Capital accounts for only ₹8 Cr
