NBFC Kogta Financial (India) Ltd, tech startup FR8, and renewable energy firm Ezon Energy have raised funds.
<h3>IIFL Seed Ventures backs Kogta Financial</h3>
Jaipur-based non-banking financial company <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/kogta-financial" target="_blank">Kogta Financial (India) Ltd</a> has raised private equity investment of an undisclosed amount from <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/iifl-seed" target="_blank">IIFL Seed Ventures Fund</a>.
IIFL Seed Ventures Fund I, sponsored by IIFL Wealth &amp; Asset Management, focuses on investment in early to growth stage companies in financial services, consumer and healthcare sectors. It typically invests Rs 15-50 crore  in the target company and acquires significant minority stake.
Equirus Capital acted as exclusive advisors to KFL for the fund raising, according to a company statement.
&#8220;KFL is on a rapid growth track and we are confident that this investment will bring significant value add to the Company,” said Arun Kogta, Managing Director &#8211; KFL.
<h3>Tech startup FR8 raises $972k from Omnivore Partners</h3>
Chennai-based tech startup <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/fr8" target="_blank">FR8</a> has raised Rs 6.5 crore ($972,000) from  agritech-focused investment firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/omnivore-partners" target="_blank">Omnivore Partners</a>, according to <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/money/omnivore-partners-invests-rs-6-5-cr-in-tech-startup-fr8/articleshow/55085683.cms" target="_blank">a report</a> in The Economic Times.
FR8, which develops solutions for the long-haul trucking segment, plans to use the latest funds for expansion, investment in technology and talent. It connects its clients including Philips, Asian Paints, Pepperfry, with trucks depending on the requirement, and vendors are notified if their trucks match the job.
The company currently operates in seven cities including Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Madurai. It soon plans to expand to 17 cities.
<h3>Japanese investor Natori Nohisa backs Ezon Energy</h3>
Japan-based investor Natori Nohisa has invested Rs 140 crore ($21 million) in renewable energy solutions provider <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/ezon-energy" target="_blank">Ezon Energy</a>, as per<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/money/ezon-energy-gets-rs-140-cr-to-power-up-karnataka-kerala/articleshow/55085928.cms" target="_blank"> a report</a> in The Economic Times.
The Coimbatore-based company plans to use the funds to set up 140 MW of solar power projects in Karnataka and Kerala.
“We are in the process of forming the special purpose vehicle (SPV) and the entire 100-plus megawatt solar project shall be implemented by March,” said Hiten Shah, vice-chairman of Ezon Energy Solutions. The funding has been structured on equity and project basis, thus avoiding stake dilution in Ezon Energy, he added
The family office of Nohisa has invested through Asia Power Plant, a Rs 7,000-crore Japanese company.
