Captain Zack, a pet grooming brand, has secured $1.5 million in a pre-series A round of funding, Venture Catalysts has invested an undisclosed amount in bike-sharing app Mobycy, and HoloSuit has raised an undisclosed amount from Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh-backed YouWeCan Ventures. Separately, iNICU, a real-time, infant-care analytics startup, has given full exit to Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE).
Captain Zack secures $1.5m
Captain Zack, a pet grooming brand owned by EM & EM Personal Care Pvt. Ltd, has secured $1.5 million in a pre-Series A round of funding led by industrialists Kushal Desai and Chaitanya Desai through their family office. Other investors who participated in the round included Naval Bir Kumar, former head at IDFC Asset Management & Standard Chartered Asset Management, Sunil Agarwal, owner – entrepreneur at Joy Cosmetics, and investment banker Ketan Shah, who manages Panini Advisors LLP. Part of the funding will also be used for Coccoon, the other brand owned by EM & EM Personal Care that offers beauty formulations using exotic fruits and plants.
Venture Catalysts invests in Mobycy
Venture Catalysts has invested an undisclosed amount in bike-sharing app Mobycy in an angel funding round. Prominent investors from Venture Catalysts network Syed Faiz, Gaurav Juneja, Ayush Agarwal, Bhaskar Raju and many others participated in round, said a statement. Mobycy app allows users to locate bikes around them, unlock them by scanning QR Code, ride and then simply park it at the destination to end the ride. It is headquartered in Gurgaon and is live in three cities already. Launched in November 2017, Mobycy began operations with 1,000 dockless cycles that were made available at various public places. Since the last three months, the company has been pivoting into e-bikes and e-scooters in Gurgaon.
iNICU gives full exit to CIIE
iNICU (Integrated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Medical Pvt Ltd, a real-time, infant-care analytics startup, has given full exit to to Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) – the technology business incubator of IIM Ahmedabad and a seed investor in the startup. Founded by Harpreet Singh and Ravneet Kaur in 2016, iNICU uses technology and predicative analysis to make early diagnosis of critical diseases. Along with the seed investment, the startup has received extensive mentorship and strategic advisory support from CIIE’s portfolio team including guidance on business planning, access to market and scaling-up, it said in a statement.
YouWeCan backs HoloSuit
Singapore-based virtual reality startup HoloSuit has raised an undisclosed amount from Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh-backed YouWeCan Ventures, INC42 reported. As a part of the investment, Singh will also join HoloSuit’s board as the brand ambassador for its sports wing. The platform also stated that it is in talks with multiple prominent investors for the next round of funding. In August, HoloSuit had reportedly raised funding from from Shabir Momin, MD & CTO, Zenga TV, Singapore-based equity investor Rohit Nanda, and Creator’s Gurukul co-founder, Mohammed Sirajuddin.
