Logistics tech startup GoBolt and clean-tech startup Thinkphi have raised funding. VMware Inc has acquired Arkin Net and HopCar has merged with Spinny.
<h3>GoBolt raises pre-Series A funding from MCube8</h3>
Delhi-based logistics technology startup <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.gobolt.in/#/home" target="_blank">GoBolt</a> has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in pre-Series A round from MCube8, a startup incubator.
The startup will utilise the money for developing its business and technology, said a VCCircle <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.vccircle.com/news/technology/2016/06/13/exclusive-logistics-tech-startup-gobolt-gets-pre-series-funding-mcube8" target="_blank">report</a>.
Run by Camions Logistics Solutions Pvt Ltd, GoBolt provides transportation solutions like right vehicle selection, delivery planning, real time tracking, reliable documentation and control.
<h3>Mumbai-based Thinkphi gets angel funding</h3>
Mumbai-based clean-tech startup <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.thinkphi.com/" target="_blank">Thinkphi</a> has received an undisclosed amount of angel funding from Nimmagadda Prasad, a serial entrepreneur, according to a press note.
Thinkphi, run by Think Sustainable Lab Pvt Ltd, will use the funding for expanding its operations and R&amp;D team.
Founded in 2015 Thinkphi, a sustainable green technology startup, develops products that conserve water and energy.
<h3>VMware buys Nexus Ventures Partners-backed Arkin Net</h3>
Virtualisation and cloud infrastructure provider VMware Inc has acquired <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.arkin.net/" target="_blank">Arkin Net</a>, a data centre and cloud infrastructure management company, according to a press note.
Pune and Silicon Valley-based Arkin Net enables software-defined security and networking for next generation data centers and cloud.
“Arkin is a great fit for VMware and its customers as we look to accelerate our growth businesses including cloud management and network virtualisation,” said Ajay Singh, senior vice-president and general manager, cloud management business unit, VMware.
<h3>HopCar merges with Spinny</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.hopcar.in/" target="_blank">HopCar</a>, a New Delhi-based online used car marketplace, has merged with <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.myspinny.com/" target="_blank">Spinny</a>.
As part of the deal, the co-founders of HopCar — Arijit Biswas, Rahul Thakur, Anish Karan, and Rahul Anand — will join Spinny and post merger both the companies will work under the brand name Spinny.
HopCar connects buyers directly to sellers. The Gurgaon-based company was founded in August 2015. Spinny owns and operates a pre-owned car marketplace myspinny.com.
