In multiple startup fundraising rounds, B2B commerce firm Moglix, co-living spaces provider StayAbode, agritech startup TartanSense and SaaS company NowFloats have raised capital.
<h3>Flipkart CEO backs B2B commerce startup Moglix</h3>
B2B commerce startup <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/moglix" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moglix</a> has received the backing of Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy, according to an official statement. The quantum of investment was not disclosed.
The news follows Moglix&#8217; $23-million Series C funding round raised in December led by existing investors Accel Partners, Jungle Ventures, and International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Moglix&#8217; board of advisors has manufacturing and technology experts including Tata Group Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata; Jeff Epstein, former CFO of Oracle; Vikrampati Singhania, director, JK Group; Jim Baum, former President and CEO, Netezza; and Shailesh Rao, Ex-VP Twitter and Google.
<h3>Co-living provider StayAbode adds to its pre-Series A round</h3>
<a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/stayabode" target="_blank" rel="noopener">StayAbode</a>, a co-living spaces provider, has raised additional funds for its pre-Series A funding from Voyage Group, Akatsuki and Incubate Fund.
Earlier this year, the Bengaluru-based company had raised an undisclosed amount in a pre-Series A round of funding from Anupam Mittal, CEO of People Group; Vineet Sekhsaria, Head, Real Estate investing, Morgan Stanley; and Japanese gaming company Akatsuki Inc.
It had earlier secured strategic round led by Incubate Fund and a group of investors from the real estate industry including Legacy Global Projects MD Sanjay Shenoy and Mridul Upreti, former Joint MD JLL India.
<h3>Agritech startup TartanSense gets $2m funding</h3>
Agritech startup TartanSense has raised Rs 15 crore ($2.1 million) from Omnivore Partners, Blume Ventures, and BEENEXT.
The round also saw participation from other investors like Dileep George, co-founder of Silicon Valley based Vicarious AI, backed by Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, GreyOrange co-founders Akash Gupta and Samay Kohli, and Kush Jawahar from Featherlite.
The agriculture robotics firm is working on creating small robots that have an optimised vision to weed out the damaged, diseased, and infectious crops in an effective and precise manner.
<h3>NowFloats raises $3.6m from Iron Pillar, IIFL, others</h3>
Hyderabad-based<a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/nowfloats" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> NowFloats Technologies</a>, which helps local businesses create and manage SEO optimised websites, has raised Rs 25 crore ($3.6 million) in a new funding round.
According to media reports quoting regulatory filings, the capital was raised from a mix of new and existing investors including venture capital firms Iron Pillar, IIFL and Omidyar Network along with a new Malaysian investor, consulting firm Wenlyn Global Group.
The funds were raised by issuing Series B2 compulsory convertible debentures in multiple tranches from October 2018 onwards. Of the total amount, Rs 13.5 crore was raised in 2019.
Prior to this round, NowFloats had raised Rs 14.36 crore in a bridge round of funding last year from Omidyar, Iron Pillar and IIFL, while in 2017, it secured $10 million in a Series B round.
