The latest in the startup space in India has seen Drone startup WeDoSky raise funding from Mumbai Angels even as Zone Startups has backed three companies led by women entrepreneurs.
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Drone startup WeDoSky raises funding</h3>
WeDoSky, a data science company focused on generating actionable business insights using drone imagery, has raised an undisclosed sum from Mumbai Angels Network.
WeDoSky will use the money to expand ‘visualAI’™ and to integrate solutions for agriculture, infrastructure, and insurance industries, the company said in a statement.
“We are excited to be associating with Mumbai Angels Network to catapult WeDoSky’s growth. Our offerings can help eradicate inefficiency from data science and drone imagery segments,” said Jaspreet Makkar, founder of WeDoSky.
WeDoSky counts companies like Adani Enterprises, Tata Power, Azure Power, and ACC Cement as its clients. The company was established in August 2014.
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Zone Startups backs three companies led by women entrepreneurs</h3>
Mumbai-based investment firm <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=zone+startups" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Zone Startups</a> has backed three companies led by women entrepreneurs.
NBFC Capital First and the Department of Science and Technology also took part in the rounds.
The three startups include Periwinkle Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Tactopus Education and Revol Inc which will get funding worth Rs 7 lakh (around $11,000). These companies were selected from Zone Startups India’s second accelerator batch comprising 27 startups, according to a statement.
&#8220;Over the past two years, we have seen some outstanding startups led by women founders, and it is unfortunate that the program is best fit for a 15 member cohort. In addition to the accelerator, empoWer will now have a bootcamp program, and a structured community engagement program for women entrepreneurs, which will help them in scaling their business through pre-planned half-yearly workshops and community support,” said Ajay Ramasubramaniam, director, Zone Startups India.
