<h3>Fosun&#8217;s VC arm eyes 2-3 more investments in India this year</h3>
<a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/fosun-rz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fosun RZ Capital</a>, the venture capital arm of Chinese conglomerate <a class="tinymce-colortext" style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/fosun" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fosun International</a>, is likely to invest in two to three more startups in India this year, said <a class="tinymce-colortext" style="color: #000080;" href="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/money/fosun-may-invest-in-2-to-3-indian-startups-by-year-end/articleshow/60356288.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a report</a> in The Economic Times.
&#8220;We are looking at early-stage opportunities with $5-15 million cheque size. We are mostly interested in minority investments taking between 15% and 25% stake in startups,&#8221; Tej Kapoor, Partner at Fosun RZ Capital told the news paper.
&#8220;We are focussing on three things &#8211; fintech, healthcare technology and happiness vertical which includes travel. There is enough deal flow in travel e-commerce,&#8221; he added.
The firm is also looking at more early-stage opportunities in logistics companies with innovative business models.
<h3>Bertelsmann plans to invest $50-60 million a year in Indian startups</h3>
German media group <a class="tinymce-colortext" style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/Bertelsmann" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bertelsmann</a> is planning to invest $50-60 million each year in India over the next four years, according to <a class="tinymce-colortext" style="color: #000080;" href="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/money/german-media-group-bertelsmann-plans-to-invest-200-250-mn-in-indian-startups-over-4-years/articleshow/60356479.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a report</a> in The Economic Times.
After its first investment in 2013-end in the country, <a class="tinymce-colortext" style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/Bertelsmann-India" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bertelsmann India Investments</a> has struck around 30 deals here and has a deployment book of $150 million.
&#8220;If we include the commitments that we have lined up for the next 12 months for deals that we have an out look for, the deployment would be about $200 million,&#8221; Pankaj Makkar, MD of Bertelsmann India Investments told the news paper.
&#8220;This is just for our follow-on investments and new deals will be over and above this,&#8221; he added.
The fund, which invests out of the profits made by parent company Bertelsmann SE &amp; Co KGaA, typically come in at the  Series-B and Series-C levels. &#8220;Series B is a great space to be in right now, because there is more demand than supply. That means we will, hopefully, get better deals and therefore end up building a good portfolio,&#8221; said Makkar.
