<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/darwinbox">Darwinbox</a>, a human resources software-as-a-service (SaaS) startup, has raised $4 million in a Series A funding round led by <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/lightspeed-india" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Lightspeed India Partners</a>.
Existing investors including <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/endiya-partners" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Endiya Partners</a>, Mohandas Pai&#8217;s <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/3one4-capital" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">3one4 Capital</a> and <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/startupxseed" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">StartupXseed Ventures</a> also participated in the round.
The Hyderabad-based startup plans to use the funds raised for product innovation and market expansion, it said in a statement.
&#8220;With this capital raise, Darwinbox will continue to expand its core technology, product and go-to-market capability across India and internationally,” said Jayant Paleti, co-founder of Darwinbox.
Founded in August 2015, Darwinbox is a cloud-based integrated HR technology product that takes care of all HR needs across the employee life cycle.
The company claims to have  on-boarded around 40 clients in the past one year and has 100,000 employees using its platform. Its clientele includes Paytm, Nivea, Delhivery, Swiggy and Godrej&#8217;s CDPL (Creamline Dairy Products).
“We have built an integrated, functionally deep and flexible application suite capable of handling organizations of all sizes and complexities. We will continue to invest in areas such as Big Data, machine learning, coupled with latest research in HRM and psychology, to maximize the value we offer to our clients while staying relevant and ahead of the competition,” Darwinbox co-founder and product head Chaitanya Peddi said.
Last year, Darwinbox had raised a seed round of an undisclosed amount from 3one4 Capital, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/tracxn-labs" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Tracxn Labs</a> and Endiya Partners.
&#8220;Darwinbox is leading the charge in taking human capital management beyond the HR department to all employees with a highly user-friendly and configurable user experience,” said Dev Khare, Partner at Lightspeed India Partners Advisors.
Recently, Lightspeed also participated in a $7 million Series B round raised by Gurgaon-based hyperlocal discovery platform <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/magicpin" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">magicpin</a>. In April, the venture capital firm also took part in a $4.6 million Series A funding round of home rental platform <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/fastfox" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">FastFox</a>.
