While education technology startup iNurture has raised a $4.4-million Series C round of funding, online fashion platform FabAlley has raised venture debt from Trifecta Capital.
<h3>Edtech startup iNurture raises $4.4m in Series C round</h3>
Education technology startup <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/inurture" target="_blank" rel="noopener">iNurture Education Solutions Pvt. Ltd</a> has raised Rs 28 crore ($4.4 million) in a round of funding led by venture capital firm <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/ventureast" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ventureast</a>.
The Bengaluru-based firm plans to use the proceeds of the Series C round to expand its e-learning platform for skill centres and distance learning and to scale up its campuses’ business.
Existing investors Bertelsmann India Investments and Ascent Capital also participated in the round.
Founded in 2008, iNurture partners with universities across India to provide job-oriented undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
<h3>FabAlley raises $78k venture debt from Trifecta Capital</h3>
Online fashion platform <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/faballey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">FabAlley</a> has raised Rs 5 crore ($78,000) in venture debt from <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/trifecta" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Trifecta Capital</a>.
The Noida-based company plans to use this funding primarily to drive its offline growth.
&#8220;We have a clearly identified use case for debt as we move towards a more aggressive omni-channel growth strategy. Offline expansion is a more capital intensive proposition and funding these capex requirements is best done through debt which is lower cost capital as compared to equity,” said Shivani Poddar, co-founder, FabAlley.
In 2016, FabAlley had raised Rs 13 crore ($2 million) in a funding round led by early-stage investor India Quotient. Existing investors including Indian Angel Network and social entrepreneur Ranjan Sharma had also participated in the Series A round, along with a few angel investors.
According to Tanvi Malik, co-founder, FabAlley, the company plans to use the fresh capital infusion to expand geographically into the top metros and affluent tier-1 cities.
