<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Jaquar" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Jaquar &amp; Co. Pvt. Ltd</a>, a Gurgaon-based bathroom fixtures and faucets brand, has acquired Euro Ceramics Ltd&#8217;s sanitaryware plant for Rs 100 crore ($15.5 million), according to a statement.
“The takeover of Euro Ceramics’ manufacturing plant will help us achieve a turnover of Rs 3,500 crore in the financial year 2017-18,” said Rajesh Mehra, director at <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Jaquar+Group" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Jaquar Group</a>.
The Euro Ceramics plant in Bhachau, Kutch is spread over 17 acres and is among the most state-of-the-art facilities in Asia.
&#8220;We have planned to invest Rs 80-90 crore more on this plant during this year on modernisation and capacity expansion,&#8221; Mehra further said adding that a planned upgrade will take the plant’s production capacity from 1.2 million sanitaryware pieces to 1.8 million pieces in 2017-18.
Founded in 2003, Mumbai-based Euro Ceramics is a ceramic manufacturing company whose products include vitrified and porcelain tiles, sanitary ware, composite marbles, and wall tiles.
Jaquar has a presence in over 30 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Africa and South Asia. Started in 1960, the company sells bathroom fixtures, faucets and other accessories under Artize, Jaquar and Essco brands. For the FY ended March 2017, the company reported a sakes of Rs 2,753 crore.
Last July, Jaquar had acquired 51 per cent stake in Joeyforlife, a South Korean maker of luxury shower heads.
