Ratan Tata, chairman emeritus of <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=tata+sons" target="_blank">Tata Sons</a>, has invested  an undisclosed amount in home rental company <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=NestAway+Technologies" target="_blank">NestAway Technologies</a>.
NestAway has previously raised about $13 million in two rounds of funding from marquee investors including IDG Ventures India, Tiger Global, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Flipkart" target="_blank">Flipkart</a> and <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=InMobi" target="_blank">InMobi</a> founder Naveen Tewari.
The company signs deals with apartment owners for their property and turns them into managed apartments with furnishings. Those are then provided to verified tenants.
NestAway has provided rental homes to about 5,000 tenants in six cities, said a statement from IDG Ventures, one of the investors in which Tata is an advisor.
NestAway was founded by Amarendra Sahu, Smruti Parida, Deepak Dhar, and Jitendra Jagadev in January 2015.
&#8220;Our mission to fix the rental housing market by inspiring trust between owners &amp; tenants, and that has been raised up a notch through collaboration with Mr Tata,&#8221; said Amarendra Sahu, co-founder and chief executive officer, NestAway.
This is Tata&#8217;s eighth investment this year, after participating in 20 deals in 2015.
