R. Gandhi, deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India reiterated the government’s stand to push for consolidation in the banking system in India. Speaking at the third edition of the Mint South Banking Conclave in Bengaluru, Gandhi said that there was need for consolidation as the Indian banking system was highly fragmented.
