Alok Goel has been one of India’s most successful entrepreneurs. He scripted redBus‘s high-growth mobile strategy as chief operating officer, and the startup was acquired by Naspers-backed Ibibo for $110 million in 2013. His next stop was FreeCharge, the online site for mobile recharge and top-ups. As the chief executive officer, he helped the firm grow 30 times in value, before Snapdeal acquired it for an estimated $400 million in cash and stock in April. The twin exits made him a poster boy for the Indian startup scene.
