Nearly eight months have passed since President Xi Jinping did a full 180 on China’s zero-COVID policy, force-opening its travel borders and trade flows. Since then, media outlets have pummelled the headlines with ominous forecasts. Record low GDP growth, one-fifth of Chinese youth are unemployed, and the most frequently mentioned of all — geopolitical uncertainty.
