Japan-headquartered molecular diagnostics company <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/stories/japanatonarp-closes-16m-series-b-48759/">Atonarp Inc</a>. has raised $33 million in a Series C funding round from a number of new and existing investors, according to the company’s announcement.
This funding round has attracted five new investors including Japan Post Investment Corporation, SBI Investment and Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures.
Existing investors who joined the funding round include INCJ, Ltd, Innovative Venture Fund Investment Limited Partnership, and a major medical equipment manufacturing company.
Atonarp plans to use the proceeds to support its product prototyping and commercialization in 2020 and beyond. The Series C funding is also expected to grow the company&#8217;s balance sheet.
Atonarp is reshaping how sensing and diagnostics devices are applied to generate real-time actionable data and achieve drastically better outcomes in industrial processes and healthcare.
The company has raised more than $61 million in total from three rounds of equity financing since early 2014.
In August 2014, Atonarp announced to raise $8 million in its Series A funding round led by Walden Riverwood Ventures and other co-investors.
Meanwhile, in July 2016, the company announced to raise up to $16 million from a number of investors led by Innovative Network Corporation of Japan (INCJ). In this round, Walden Riverwood also participated along with Innovative Venture Fund Investment.
