Japan-based <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Future+Venture+Capital" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Future Venture Capital</a> is set to buy out <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=All+Nippon+Entertainment" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">All Nippon Entertainment Works Inc (ANEW)</a> from <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Innovation+Network+Corporation" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Innovation Network Corporation of Japan</a> for an undisclosed sum.
Future Venture disclosed it will buy 2,220 shares, representing 99.6 per cent stake in ANEW, which is expected to be completed on June 8., according to a <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.release.tdnet.info/inbs/140120170531490760.pdf">release </a>(in Japanese). Post the transaction, the VC firm plans to make All Nippon into a consolidated subsidiary.
Founded in 2011, ANEW has partnered with several Hollywood studios to co-develop and produce Japanese content to English-speaking audiences in a bid to capture the global entertainment market. It has a capital of $9.8 million (1.115 billion Yen) as of December 31, 2015.
Among ANEW&#8217;s network of partners include prominent creative talent, major production companies, motion picture studios and television networks.
However, in securing movie production expenses, ANEW noted it indirectly uses government capital and has to deal with restrictions on fund procurement which takes time to materialize.
The company believes that by combining the strengths of the company&#8217;s fund composition and investment function, it can make better use of its business model and network.
