<article>Japanese private equity (PE) firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/j-star/" target="_blank">J-Star</a> has acquired 100 per cent of shares, excluding treasury stock, of pet services firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.pet-village.net/," target="_blank">Fuji Field Co., Ltd</a>.</article>

Japanese private equity (PE) firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/j-star/" target="_blank">J-Star</a> has acquired 100 per cent of shares, excluding treasury stock, of pet services firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.pet-village.net/," target="_blank">Fuji Field Co., Ltd</a>.
The deal was conducted through its portfolio firm JVCC., Ltd. (JVCC), which is part of J-STAR No.3 SS, LP. 
 Headquartered in Tokyo, the enterprise was established in 2006 by a veterinarian, Hiroshi Fujino. Since inception, Fuji Field has grown its business as vet a clinic with a pet salon next to it. Currently, Fuji Field operates three vet clinics with pet salons and seven pet salons in Tokyo and Kanagawa.
JVCC was set up to create a vet clinic group network. Currently, most veterinary clinics are run by sole proprietors in Japan.
J-STAR No.3 SS, LP, which counts JVCC as a portfolio firm, provides research on investment opportunities.
J-Star is a buyout firm targeting middle market healthcare, information technology, manufacturing, media, transportation, retail, and financial services companies in Japan. It currently has $300 million in assets under management (AUM) as at March 2016.
Its typical equity ticket size ranges from JPY 1 billion to JPY 3 billion, though it also considers opportunities outside this range depending on the nature of the business and the deal situation. It has a holding period of three to seven years.

J-Star’s previous investment include nursing services provider Platia, dispensing pharmacy chain Aisei Pharmacy, energy saving solution provider ESCO, and insurance agent Nihon Hoken Service, among others.
