Japan-based <a style="color: #000080" href="https://www.sansan.com/" target="_blank">Sansan</a>, a provider of cloud-based contact-management services, is expanding into Asia with the launch of a new Singapore office.
This new office is operating under a new entity, Sansan Global, and is meant to support Asia Pacific (APAC) growth, increasing its ability to help business enterprises digitise their business contacts and enhance the way of doing business.
According to the official release, Sansan’s technology helps firms utilise the data in business cards for their individual needs.
Sansan accurately transcribes business cards and uploads them into a cloud-based contact management platform and claims to maintain a portfolio of over 3000 clients globally, amongst them international brands like Toyota, Intel, and SAP.
A <a style="color: #000080" href="http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20141111005431/en/Forrester%E2%80%99s-2015-Predictions-Mobile-Customer-Experience-Fuel#.VgTyqjYVjIU" target="_blank">research report from Forrester Inc</a> indicates that digital transformation will drive technology spending growth of up to 4.9 per cent in the APAC region. More enterprises are adopting emerging technologies to empower customers and enhance the efficiency of their business operations.
<a style="color: #000080" href="http://www.idc.com/getdoc.jsp?containerId=prSG25248914" target="_blank">IDC</a> is also predicting 2015 to be a year of accelerating innovation, with an increased APAC focus on automated workflows and web-scale cloud systems. It is forecasting IT spending to grow by 6.4 per cent in 2017, with cloud business becoming a game changer for small &amp; medium enterprises (SMEs), offering scalable infrastructure and capabilities available as services.
Commenting on the opening of the Singapore office, <a style="color: #000080" href="https://jp.linkedin.com/pub/chika-terada/9/2a0/76a" target="_blank">Chika Terada</a>, founder and CEO of Sansan, said, “We are proud and excited to establish Sansan’s presence in the Singapore market. Singapore’s adoption for cloud-based software to accelerate business presents us with a huge potential for growth opportunity here.&#8221;
Terada added, &#8220;The business card culture in Singapore is similar to Japan’s in the sense that exchanging them and using them as reminders of business contacts is common practice. Digitising them would mitigate the loss of this information and make it available to one’s co-workers and colleagues, rather than simply to the individual.&#8221;
Highlighting its status as a hub for regional SMEs, as well as the presence of trade shows and large-scale exhibitions, he cited this as some of the reasons for establishing a Singapore office as a base for further APAC expansion.
