Japanese investment management firm <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Symphony+Financial+Partners" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Symphony Financial Partners</a> has launched its US office located in Winchester, Massachusetts.
The asset manager also announced the appointment of Daniel Ludwig as managing director and head of investor relations of Symphony Financial Partners (US) LLC.
Founded by David Baran, and Kazuhiko Shibata in 2000, Symphony Financial Partners is headquartered in Singapore and has another office in Tokyo. It manages up to $1 billion for a global client roster of blue-chip foundations, pensions, endowments, sovereign wealth entities and prominent family offices.
The company has three funds, the SFP Value Realization Fund, SFP Japan Special Opportunities Fund, and Sinfonietta Fund. The first is a long-bias, constructive engagement strategy which invests and works closely with willing managements of deeply undervalued Japanese companies. The SF Japan is a liquid, all cap, diversified extension of the firm&#8217;s flagship Japan fund, while Sinfonietta Fund is a pan-Asia opportunistic hedge fund.
Ludwig brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the investment industry, and he will be responsible for managing client relationships in the US, Canada, and Europe.
Prior to joining Symphony, Ludwig was managing director for Taiyo Pacific Partners and was responsible for marketing and client service in the US, Canada, and Asia.
He also previously held leadership positions with Geode Capital in Boston, PIMCO in Atlanta, and Fidelity Investments in Denver. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, a BA in Physics from Ithaca College, and an MBA from Bryant University and is a CFA charter holder.
Symphony Financial co-founder and CEO David Baran said, Ludwig will work in close collaboration with Tokyo-based Hiroyuki Abe to provide quality access for the firm&#8217;s US, Canada, and European clients.
&#8220;As the rest of the team is in Japan and Singapore, having Dan on the ground in the U.S. will significantly expand our investor relations capabilities,&#8221; Baran said.
