SG multi-family office Kamet Capital names new partner, senior advisor

Singapore-based multi-family office Kamet Capital Partners has bolstered its executive leadership team with the appointment of a new partner and senior advisor, according to an announcement.

The family office has appointed Matthew Lee, previously the senior vice president of the Singapore Economic Development Board, as partner, and Foo Khai Lin, an investment banking veteran, as senior advisor.

These appointments, Kamet Capital said, aim to bolster its capabilities in serving ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) families and individuals across Asia.

Lee, in his new role, will utilise his knowledge of Singapore’s economic strategies and regulatory framework to assist clients in integrating into Singapore’s vibrant ecosystem.

“We will create tailored roadmaps for families and entrepreneurs looking to relocate or invest in Singapore to enable them to achieve their aspirations and immerse themselves in the nation’s thriving ecosystem,” Lee said.

Lin, on the other hand, will enhance Kamet’s strategic financial advice and investment management services, focusing on promoting generational wealth growth through innovative and comprehensive strategies.

Founded in 2017, Kamet Capital’s investments in Southeast Asia include Singapore-based telehealth startup Doctor Anywhere, and big data company Advance.AI; logistics startups Flash Express and J&T Express; and Chinese new retail company KK Group.

Indosuez Wealth Management, the global wealth management brand of Credit Agricole Group, has announced the appointment of Hank Chiu and Renee Wu as executive director and senior director, respectively, to augment its North Asia team.

In a statement, Indosuez said the appointments are part of the bank’s strategy to beef up its position in Asia. In the region, Indosuez operates in Hong Kong, New Caledonia, and Singapore.

Chiu will assume senior coverage responsibilities for key Taiwanese clients. Previously, he assumed senior roles at UBS Wealth Management and Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in Singapore.

Wu, on the other hand, was senior vice president of the private banking division of Taipei Fubon Bank. Her previous responsibilities included managing teams of ANZ Bank and Citibank.

The North Asia team in the Singapore branch plans to double its business by 2025 as part of its three-year plan, per the announcement.

Khazanah Nasional names Hisham Hamdan as investment chief

Malaysian sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional has announced the appointment of Hisham Hamdan as its new chief investment officer (CIO).

Hisham, Khazana’s executive director of public markets, assumed the post, which was left vacant a year ago following the departure of Azmil Zahruddin Raja Abdul Aziz.

In a statement, Khazanah said Hisham’s appointment “allows for greater focus on building the sovereign wealth fund’s capabilities” as an investment institution.

Khazanah Nasional Berhad is the sovereign wealth fund of the Government of Malaysia. One of the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world, it was established to invest surplus revenues for the country.
