Private equity major KKR has promoted seven executives in Asia Pacific to the position of Members and Managing Directors, as part of organisation-wide elevations it announced last night.
In Asia, five officials &#8212; Susan Hutchison from Hong Kong, Rupen Jhaveri in Mumbai, Chung Ho Park — Seoul, Matthew Claughton at KKR Capstone in Sydney and Tashwinder Singh on the Mumbai Capital Markets team &#8211; have been named Managing Directors while executives Jaka Prasetya in Singapore and Diane Raposio in Hong Kong have been promoted as new Members
&#8220;This particular group of individuals has demonstrated strong leadership, embodies the firm’s culture and values, and plays a key role in KKR’s mission of supporting our clients and the companies in which we invest,&#8221; said co-founders Henry Kravis and George Roberts in an announcement issued on Thursday.
In total, the firm has announced a newly promoted group of 23 Members and 44 Managing Directors with all promotions effective from January 1 next year.
Among the new Managing Directors, Susan Hutchison is a former Goldman Sachs executive who joined KKR in 2011 as the head of human resources for Asia Pacific.
Rupen Jhaveri of the India team has been with KKR since 2009. Also a former Goldman Sachs and Warbug Pincus executive, Jhaveri has been a part of a number of investments in the past. Another India executive Tashwinder Singh , who is part of the KKR Capital Markets team, was earlier at Citi.
Among others named as Managing Directors, Matthew Claughton who supports the KKR portfolio companies in Australia has been with KKR for past three years while Seoul-based Chung Ho Park has been with the private equity platform since 2009. He is a former TPG executive.
KKR, a leading global investment firm that manages multiple alternative asset classes, including private equity, energy, infrastructure, real estate, credit and, through its strategic partners, hedge funds has assets worth $153 billion as on September 30.
