Global private equity firm <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=KKR &amp; Co. LP" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KKR &amp; Co. LP</a> has elevated Yesh Nadkarni, the head of its India real estate investment platform, to the role of managing director effective January 1, 2019.
London-based Indian origin director of KKR Credit, Varun Khanna, who has been with the firm since 2016, has also been made a managing director. Both Nadkarni and Khanna are among the 18 senior executives globally who have been promoted by KKR to the position of managing director, according to an announcement.

Nadkarni joined KKR from J.P. Morgan&#8217;s principal investing group in 2015. At J.P. Morgan, his role was to oversee the group’s Asia-Pacific (ex-China) real estate investing business. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Nadkarni spent over 10 years working in a variety of roles focusing on real estate investing and advisory areas across India, Southeast Asia, and Australia.
He holds a Masters in Finance degree from London Business School and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from India.
Prior to joining KKR, Khanna was a managing director at Deutsche Bank in the structured finance division focused on direct lending, corporate securitizations and special situations.
Their appointment comes a few months after Ashish Khandelia, who co-headed the real estate investments of global private equity major KKR &amp; Co in India, put in his papers to set up own real estate finance business consisting of private equity, structured financing and NBFC, Mint reported.
