Asian private equity firm <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=longreach">The Longreach Group </a>has announced that it has agreed to sell all shares it held in Cybird Co Ltd to global mobile game publisher Aeria Inc for an undisclosed amount.
In the announcement, Longreach said both Aeria and Cybird are mobile content providers with a common focus on business growth in the female-user market.
&#8220;The combination of the two companies will allow both businesses to accelerate growth, in particular through synergies created between Cybird&#8217;s mobile Ikemen series game business and Aeria&#8217;s growing A3! business.
&#8220;With its high growth online game business positioned in the expanding female-user market, Aeria expects broad synergies with Cybird through game collaboration and live events from this acquisition,&#8221; Longreach said in a statement.
Founded in 1998, Cybird is a mobile content provider mainly for the mobile game market, with major titles such as Ikemen series as well as content licensing through celebrities and animation characters.
JASDAQ-listed Aeria is a global mobile game publishing and IT services company founded in 2002, with a primary focus on publishing global online games led by female-popular titles such as A3!, which has over 5 million global downloads as of March 2018.
Focusing on Japan-related control buyouts in mature sectors, Longreach Group is headquartered in both Hong Kong and Tokyo. The firm manages three funds with a total of $1.8 billion capital committed by limited partners and co-investors.
<a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/stories/longreach-japan-coffee-kohikan-93930/">In March</a>, it agreed to acquire 100 per cent of Japanese coffee shop chain Kohikan Corporation from UCC Foodservice Systems for an undisclosed amount.
