On-demand personal assistant service <a href="http://helprnow.com/" target="_blank">Helpr </a>has announced that it has raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding from <a href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=500+Startups" target="_blank">500 Startups</a>.
The Malaysia-based startup intends to reinvest the funds raised into marketing to help push for user growth as well as attract talented people to join the company.
In an interaction with DEALSTREETASIA, co-founder Eujean Lee commented that the company did not want to reveal the value raised at this juncture.
Co-founder Ang Kok Seong said, in a statement, the funding round represents a strong first step for the startup in executing its growth plans.
“We have managed to bring onboard experienced investors who truly understand the Asian ecosystem. 500 Startups have backed some of the most successful startups in Asia including GrabTaxi, iMoney and KFIT, and we are proud to be part of the 500 family,” Ang noted.
The text based multi-channel personal assistant was officially launched in August after two months in beta stage and has since seen user requests grow on an average of 130 per cent monthly.  
The business has also seen a strong conversion rate for paying users with 76 per cent of customers willing to pay for their services.
500 Startups managing partner Khailee Ng added that it was not easy feat launching an on demand concierge.
“But scaling one is not. Helpr&#8217;s founders dealt with some of the most complex product, logistics and customer support scaling throughout Asia-Pacific (APAC) and their experience is an unfair advantage here. I&#8217;m betting on them on getting this right, and create a vital service for Southeast Asia&#8217;s growing middle income.&#8221;
Helpr is presently only operating in Malaysia with plans to go regional by the end of the year.
The startup was founded by ex-<a href="https://www.groupon.com/" target="_blank">Groupon</a> APAC executives, among whom are Ang Kok Seong, who was formerly regional head of operations for Groupon APAC, and his co-founders Lee, who was regional account manager/quality assurance manager for Groupon APAC and Wafiq Rodzuan, who was a software engineer for Groupon APAC and a member of Groupon Malaysia’s founding team.
