Singapore's central bank extends deadline for awarding digital bank licences

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has extended the deadline for awarding the city-state’s digital banking licences to the second half of this year from June previously.

“This will allow the digital bank licence applicants to dedicate their resources and attention towards managing the immediate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their businesses,” the MAS said in a statement last week.
