Consumer data analytics firm Eyeota has raised a $12.5 million Series B while Carousell has closed additional funding estimated at $45 million in 2017.
<h3>Eyeota raises $12.5m Series B</h3>
Singapore-based <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://eyeota.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Eyeota</a>, a consumer data venture which sells audience data to advertisers worldwide, has closed a $12.5 million Series B investment to finance further growth. The round was led by French private equity firm Jolt Capital SAS with participation from Project A Ventures and Qualgro.
Founded in 2010, its last round of funding was a <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/eyeota/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$7 million Series A round from Global Brain in January 2016</a>. The firm has raised in excess of $22 million to date.
Led by chief executive Kevin Tan, the firm addresses the lack of audience data in international markets.

<h3>Carousell raises $45m in venture funding</h3>
Consumer-to-consumer (C2C) marketplace Carousell has raised in excess of $45 million in a new funding round participated by EDBI, the Singapore Economic Development Board’s corporate investment arm and return backers Rakuten Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Golden Gate Ventures, and 500 Startups.
An <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.techinasia.com/carousell-2017-funding" target="_blank" rel="noopener">account</a> by Tech in Asia, which cited corporate filings and financial documents submitted to Singapore’s Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) indicates that it had a paid-up share capital totalling an estimated $87.1 million as of 20 September 2017.
Crunchbase data cites that the venture, founded in 2012, has raised aggregate equity funding of $111.8 million, with its last funding round being a <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/stories/singapores-e-commerce-startup-carousell-raises-70-80m-series-c-funding-85197/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Series C financing round</a> in October 2017 estimated at between $70 million to $80 million.
Carousell is a community-driven marketplace to connect individual buyers and sellers and has been operated on a free-to-use basis.
It is in the early stages of monetisation and is working with advertisers and brands looking to reach out to its user base; the firm claims its customers include AXA Insurance, DBS Bank, McDonald&#8217;s, and Uber among those brands which have run marketing campaigns on its platform.
