OJK sets the ball rolling on Indonesian banks' digital transformation with new rules

Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) has issued two new regulations paving the way for technology players and non-banking institutions to operate banks in the country.

With the new rules, companies can now operate a digital bank in the archipelago in two ways — establish a new bank, or acquire existing lenders.
