Nexus Venture leads $3m round in Quizizz
Quizizz, a learning platform that helps teachers turn homework and tests into self-paced games, on Thursday announced that it has raised $3 million in a funding round led by Nexus Venture Partners. The round also saw participation from existing investors Prime Venture Partners and angels. The funding will support new products that help students master standards specific to their grade level, school, and state, it said in a statement. Founded by Ankit Gupta and Deepak Joy Cheenath, Quizizz combines game-design elements with self-paced questions and instant feedback to help students learn.
TransportEG gets $1.9m from IL&FS PE arm
Logistics startup TransportEG has raised Rs13 crore ($1.9 million) from the private equity arm of Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS). The Mumbai-based firm will use the funds to boost its product and technology features, as well as in expanding and hiring. In 2016, TransportEG had raised angel funding from Israel-based Goldratt Group. Founded by Siddaraju HV and Krishna Guha in 2015, TransportEG claims that its online platform has an aggregate monthly transport contract value of Rs 350 crore.
