Bon raises $1.1m led by Omidyar
Fintech platform Bon, which facilitates digital credit for flexible workers, has raised $1.1 million (Rs 7.8 crore) in a seed funding round led by Omidyar Network, the Silicon Valley-based impact investing firm established by Pierre Omidyar, the founder of eBay. Other investors in this round include early-stage investment firm Axilor and Better Capital’s AngelList India Syndicate, it said in a statement. Funds raised in this round will help the company further partnerships with banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFC), as well as expand its presence to 25 cities across India over the next 18 months and kick off operations in other markets in Asia.
Star WorldWide backs ShiftKarado
ShiftKarado, a tech-oriented packing and moving company, has raised funding of Rs 5 crore from Star WorldWide Group and promoters. The funding was received in various rounds, with the final tranche coming in month. ShiftKarado will use the funds to upgrade its website and mobile app, using artificial intelligence, machine-learning, and data analytics to improve the user experience, it said in a statement. Gurugram-based ShiftKarado, which has a presence across 15 cities including Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai, is planning to expand presence across India.
Mumbai Angels invests in Rev Snacks
Pune-based Rev Snacks Pvt Ltd, the company that sells fruit snacks under the brand Frubites, has raised an undisclosed amount in funding led by the Mumbai Angels Network, and other external investors, The Economic Times reported. The startup will use the funding to build the brand, expand distribution, and widen their product offering across vegetables, nuts, and more fruits.
