Canadian pension fund OTPP sees sizeable opportunities in SE Asia

Canada’s Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) is among the most active pension fund investors in the Asia-Pacific, having deployed about CA$20 billion ($15.6 billion) in the region across equities, infrastructure, technology and real estate.

Within its equity business, the CA$240-billion OTPP’s direct private equity investments include Australasian insurance distributor Greenstone, Singapore-based data centre operator Princeton Digital Group, Korean F&B chain BHC Group, Hong Kong and Singapore-based gym chain Pure Group, Asia Pacific Healthcare Group, Abano Healthcare Group and Australian education provider Navitas, among others.
