Financial services group Northern Trust has appointed Paula Keene as country head of the newly-launched Northern Trust global operations center in Manila, Philippines.
The launch of Manila office is part of Northern Trust’s expansion strategy in Asia-Pacific. For this purpose, the group has allocated $2.2 billion capital with a rolling three-year period.
Paula joined the US-based independent banking firm in 1994, and till recently, held the position of chief operations officer (COO) for the Northern Trust International Asset Management in London. Prior to this, Paula has held several key positions in group, including global head of project management office for Northern Trust Asset Management and global business manager for Northern Trust Transition Management.
“Being country executive is an exciting role in a thriving, dynamic country with a talented workforce. I am pleased to lead one of our operational centres of excellence as we continue our rapid expansion across Asia-Pacific,” Paula said.
The 125 year old Chicago-based Northern Trust group, has more than 20 international locations. The operations center in the Philippines is the company’s third expansion site in Asia-Pacific this year.
