Private equity firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.shawkwei.com/" target="_blank">ShawKwei &amp; Partners</a> has appointed Brian Lau as executive director in the firm’s Hong Kong office.
Lau, formerly a partner at the boutique investment bank and advisory firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.prometheuscapital.com/" target="_blank">Prometheus Capital</a>, will bring deep operational and strategic expertise to ShawKwei, the firm said in a statement.
He has experience running businesses in the technology and the manufacturing sectors and had specialised in cross-border advisory and investment collaboration.
Prior to his time in investment banking, Brian spent 19 years in executive roles at Celestica and Texas Instruments, with positions in Canada and Hong Kong.
In addition to leveraging his operational expertise into ShawKwei’s portfolio companies, Lau will also contribute his transactional expertise to the firm’s deal flow and asset transactions, the firm noted.

Lau commented that ShawKwei is a unique mid-market firm with its focus on hands-on operational management.
