Online lingerie firm Zivame has appointed Sumeet Yadav as executive chairman, TPG’s partner Vishwarupe Narain has resigned even as Facebook has named Sandeep Bhushan as interim head as its India MD Umang Bedi has quit.
Zivame names Sumeet Yadav as executive chairman
Online lingerie firm Zivame has appointed Sumeet Yadav as its executive chairman from food and beverages firm Nando’s where he was heading its India business.
According to a statement, Yadav will help in strengthening Zivame’s efforts in diversifying its portfolio and enhancing growth by intensifying its omni-channel presence.
“This is an exciting time for the industry, which is going through an evolution with digitisation playing a disruptive role in influencing business dynamics and consumer engagement,” Yadav said.
At the same time, Shaleen Sinha, Zivame’s chief operating officer, has been promoted as chief executive.
TPG’s India partner Vishwarupe Narain quits
Global PE firm TPG‘s India partner Vishwarupe Narain has quit the company after serving for a decade to pursue his own venture.
According to an Economic Times report, the fund has hired Shailesh Rao, former vice president at Twitter, to manage its technology portfolio in India, Asia and the Americas, and advise its global impact fund The Rise Fund.
Narain has earlier been associated with McKinsey and Bessemer Partners. In TPG, he has helped in building portfolio companies like Dodla Diary, Motherhood, CTSI, Sutures India, AGS, and Landmark Auto.
Meanwhile Rao who has over a couple of decades of experience, has served as both vice-president of international operations at Twitter and vice-president for Asia Pacific at Google.
Umang Bedi quits Facebook India, Sandeep Bhusan appointed as interim head
Umang Bedi, the managing director of Facebook India, has resigned the company, according to a statement.
He will be leaving Facebook by the end of this year.
Bedi joined the social media company last year in June from Adobe Inc where he was the managing director, South Asia. At Facebook, he focused on growing the business, building engagement and partnerships by focusing on verticals, brands and agencies.
Meanwhile Sandeep Bhushan has been appointed as interim MD who has handled the new revenue streams from FMCG advertisers for Facebook across the region. Previously Bhushan worked with Samsung and HT Media.
