HSBC has appointed its head of global liquidity and cash management for Thailand while Lazada Group has named its CEO for Vietnam operations.
HSBC appoints cash management head for Thailand
HSBC has named Jonathan Teh as Country Head of Global Liquidity and Cash Management (GLCM) business in Thailand, according to an announcement.
Teh will be responsible for driving the cash management strategy in Thailand and accelerating HSBC’s growth plans in ASEAN.
Teh brings with him over a decade of banking experience in cash management and global markets across sales and product management.
Prior to this new role, he was the Singapore-based regional sales lead for TMT clients in the Asia Pacific.
Recently, HSBC appointed Alexander Malloch as head of international subsidiary banking (ISB) in Thailand. Malloch will help HSBC provide greater banking coverage to international large corporates and mid-market enterprises looking to expand in the country.
Lazada Group appoints Vietnam CEO
E-commerce platform Lazada Group has named James Dong as its CEO to lead the Vietnamese operations. Dong will continue to hold his current role as CEO of Thailand, according to an announcement.
James Dong succeeds Max Zhang in the role of Vietnam CEO. Zhang will remain a part of the Alibaba Group
This appointment will enable more cross-country collaboration and synergies, and help further accelerate the group’s strategy in Vietnam.
Vietnam remains an important growth market for Lazada, and the leading Southeast Asia eCommerce company will grow its investment locally to further technology and logistics infrastructure developments, as well as elevate the consumer shopping experience.
