People Digest: Principle Capital names Lau as VP; Jun to lead ICG Asia Pacific

Raymond Lau has joined Shanghai-based private equity firm Principle Capital as vice president while Wooseok Jun has been promoted as Head of Asia Pacific at the Intermediate Capital Group.

Principle Capital names Lau as VP

Shanghai-based private equity firm Principle Capital has appointed Raymond Lau as a vice president of the firm, effective from January 2.

Previously, Lau was managing director at Lau Equity, a family investment office. Prior to Lau Equity, he managed a $2-billion private equity portfolio at GE Asset Management for nine years.

Founded in 2002, Principle Capital has invested in over 30 Chinese mid-cap market firms across advanced industrials, business services, healthcare and consumer sectors.

Jun to lead ICG Asia Pacific

Wooseok Jun, managing director and head of South Korea at Intermediate Capital Group (ICG), has been promoted as Head of Asia Pacific to replace Chris Heine who retired at the end of 2018.

Working in ICG since 2013, Jun is now managing director and head of Asia-Pacific (equity and mezzanine).

Prior to joining ICG, he was with Affinity Equity Partners in Seoul and moved to be a director with Providence Equity Partners in Hong Kong.

Jun holds a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University.
