<p>UK fintech firm Revolut has hired former Uber Eats executive Eddie Lee to lead APAC operations while Bank of Singapore has appointed Richard Hu to head its Greater China team.</p>
<h3><strong>UK fintech Revolut hires ex-Uber exec to head APAC ops</strong></h3>
<p>UK fintech firm Revolut has appointed Eddie Lee, a former Uber executive, to head its Asia Pacific office in Singapore.</p>
<p>Lee joined Uber in 2013 and was most recently heading its operations and strategy team for Uber Eats in Asia Pacific. He continued serving the position after Uber&#8217;s exit from the region last year.</p>
<p>Lee will focus on Revolut&#8217;s expansion plans in the region. The UK fintech firm plans to launch in Australia and Japan by the first half of 2019, and is on track to roll out the beta version of its debit card offerings over the next couple of weeks.</p>
<p>Revolut has made a number of senior hires to drive its global ambitions. The company has also hired Soups Ranjan, the former director of data science and risk at Coinbase, as well as Andre Mohamed, co-founder of stock trading app, Freetrade. Ranjan was appointed director of financial crime risk at Revolut, while Mohamed was named Revolut&#8217;s director of wealth and trading product.</p>
<h3><strong>Bank of Singapore hires Richard Hu to lead Greater China team</strong></h3>
<p>Bank of Singapore has appointed Richard Hu, a veteran banker with over 20 years of experience in the region, as market head for its Greater China team.</p>
<p>According to a Finews.asia report, Hu joins Bank of Singapore from Avenue Asset Management where we built a new team, started a venture capital fund, real estate fund and fixed income fund.</p>
<p>Prior to this, Hu was Group Head of Greater China market at Julius Baer, Business Head of North Asia and Market Head for China, Taiwan onshore and onshore at HSBC Private Bank.</p>
