Sydney-based venture capital firm Right Click Capital has appointed Ulric Ferner as an associate as the firm further develops its new Growth Fund. In another news, Swiss banker Credit Suisse has appointed former UBS executive and a private equity expert Tsunehiro Watabe as senior advisor in Japan. Meanwhile, Schroders has named Zal Devitre as Head of Private Banks distribution and global financial client group

Right Click Capital hires Associate

Sydney-based venture capital firm Right Click Capital has appointed Ulric Ferner as an Associate as the firm further develops its new Growth Fund.

In an announcement on Tuesday, the firm said, Ferner’s responsibilities will span all stages of the investment process from reviewing potential deals and associated due diligence helping founders grow their businesses and supporting overall growth in the startup community.

He joins from The Boston Consulting Group. He has a track record in evaluating the IP and technologies of startups. He holds a PhD in Computer Science and a Master’s Degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Credit Suisse hires PE, private banking expert in Japan

Swiss banker Credit Suisse has appointed former UBS executive and a private equity expert Tsunehiro Watabe as senior advisor in Japan.

Based in Tokyo, Watabe will work closely with Credit Suisse’s Private Banking (PB) and Investment Banking & Capital Markets (IBCM) departments to identify opportunities to deliver its integrated bank offering to clients, Credit Suisse said in an announcement on Monday.

Watabe brings vast experience and a long career working with a range of clients across Japan. He joins Credit Suisse from CVC Capital Partners, where he was Chairman for seven years. Prior to this, he was Vice Chairman at Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities Co Ltd, and also had a distinguished, nearly 40-year career spanning UBS Securities and Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan, where he held senior leadership roles including Vice Chairman.

Schroders adds private bank exec in Asia

UK-based asset management firm Schroders has named Zal Devitre as Head of Private Banks distribution and global financial client group, according to a report from finews on Monday.

Based in Singapore, Devitre will report to Showbhik Kalra, Head of Intermediary and Product, Asia Pacific.

Before taking this new role, Devitre has worked with Citibank in Singapore as Head of Investments where he joined in 2015.
