Schroders Wealth Management names Peter Flavel as Asia board chair
Schroders Wealth Management has appointed former Coutts chief executive Peter Flavel as chair and independent non-executive director of the board of Schroder & Co. (Asia).
Based in Singapore, Flavel will work alongside Evonne Tan, who recently took over as CEO for Asia, to strengthen the firm’s regional business, deepen client relationships and support its long-term growth strategy across the region.
Flavel brings more than three decades of private banking and wealth management experience. He previously founded Standard Chartered’s global private bank; led JP Morgan Private Wealth Management for Asia Pacific; and most recently served as CEO of Coutts, where he oversaw the transformation of the UK private bank.
The appointment comes as Schroders Wealth Management continues to invest in Asia, which it views as a strategic growth market. The firm said Flavel and Tan will focus on expanding its regional footprint and strengthening its capabilities.
The leadership change also marks a governance transition for the Asia business. Jason Lai will step down from the board after serving the firm for several years.
Schroders Wealth Management oversees £145 billion ($197 billion) in client assets globally as of Dec. 31, 2025, with wealth management offices in Singapore and Switzerland.
Lighthouse Canton hires Angela Saik to lead SE Asia wealth management
Global investment firm Lighthouse Canton has appointed Angela Saik as managing director for wealth management in Southeast Asia operations.
Saik will be responsible for driving the firm’s wealth management business in the region, with a focus on serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients while helping deepen Lighthouse Canton’s regional footprint. The appointment forms part of the firm’s broader expansion strategy in Southeast Asia.
She joins Lighthouse Canton with more than two decades of experience in private banking and wealth management, having held senior leadership roles at global financial institutions. Her background spans client advisory, business development, and regional market expansion across Asia.
“[..] My focus over the coming years will be to grow our client base across Southeast Asia, including in markets such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines where the demand for institutional, independent counsel is rising sharply,” she said in a statement.
The appointment adds to a series of senior leadership hires by Lighthouse Canton as the firm scales its wealth management platform across Asia, following recent executive appointments in other key markets including India.
In November 2025, Lighthouse Canton raised $40 million in a funding round led by Peak XV Partners, with participation from Nextinfinity and Qatar Insurance Company, marking the firm’s first external fundraise in its decade-long history.
