SoftBank Ventures Asia has hired Seung Lee as its new Chief Financial Officer while asset manager State Street Corporation has appointed Head of Asia Pacific.
<h3>SoftBank Ventures Asia hires Seung Lee as CFO</h3>
<a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/SoftBank">SoftBank Ventures Asia</a> has hired Seung Lee as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), according to a statement. Lee will oversee financial initiatives of global offices including Beijing, Singapore and Silicon Valley.
Seung Lee joins SoftBank with more than 15 years of experience advising mergers and acquisitions and raising capital at Morgan Stanley&#8217;s Hong Kong and Seoul office. He also founded his own startup prior to joining SoftBank Ventures Asia.
SoftBank Ventures Asia, formerly SoftBank Ventures Korea, is the early-stage investment vehicle of SoftBank Group. Earlier this month, SoftBank Ventures Asia said it was looking to expand its presence beyond Seoul, Beijing, San Francisco and Tel Aviv. It is also planning to open offices and hiring investment executives in Singapore and Shanghai.
<h3>State Street appoints Head of Asia Pacific</h3>
Asset manager <a href="https://dealstreetasia.com/tag/State-Street">State Street Corporation</a> has named Ian Martin as head of Asia Pacific, succeeding Wai-Kwong Seck, effective January 14, according to an official release.
Martin, a 25-year State Street veteran, has deep knowledge of the firm’s clients and strategy having held several leadership roles across the firm and in multiple locations in the region.
He will continue to be based in Hong Kong and report to Andrew Erickson, head of Global Services worldwide.
State Street has operated in the Asia-Pacific region for more than 40 years. It had approximately $33.99 trillion of assets under custody and administration and $2.82 trillion of assets under management globally as at September 30, 2018.
