Online real estate marketplace <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.zipmatch.com" target="_blank">ZipMatch</a> has become the first company to use virtual reality for real estate sector in South East Asia.
The latest service is an amplified version of ZipMatch&#8217;s high-quality images or 3D videos of residential properties for sale in the region, mostly in the Philippines at present.
The Philippine-based startup saw this new-age technology as another opportunity to empower both home seekers and real estate sellers in the home buying process.
ZipMatch co-founder John Dang recently disclosed they have shifted their main focus of the business from assisting home buyers to empowering more real estate sellers.

The 360 virtual reality service is designed to enable real estate professionals, developers, especially home sellers to conduct on-demand proper viewing of residential projects or model units for homebuyers without needing to make the actual, physical &#8220;tripping&#8221;.
Compared to its previous high-quality images or 3D videos, ZipMatch&#8217;s 360 virtual reality aims to provide a more immersive property viewing.
ZipMatch explained a significant mid-step to buying a home not only in the Philippines, but in probably every country in the world, is to do a tripping, or pay an actual visit at the property for sale or rent.
If the property is of a pre-selling nature, or if it has not yet been built or is currently under construction, sellers usually show model units or scale models which costs thousands to millions of pesos, and even throw in architect floor plans to help their clients visualize their next home.
Although photos and videos in listings and seller websites can already provide the details needed when viewing a property, it is a natural behavior for homebuyers to &#8220;experience&#8221; the actual property itself for a number of reasons. Moreover, a study on buyer personality types revealed that there are certain home seekers who needs visual support when it comes to making important decisions.

&#8220;As such, for the real estate seller side, property viewing is an integral step in the selling process,&#8221; the tech startup said. &#8220;It is often that turning point wherein a broker or a sales agent can take control of the buying decision by engaging with the home seeker face-to-face about his or her real estate wants and needs.&#8221;
The latest innovation makes the Philippines also as the first in the SEA region to have a resource or database of 360 virtual reality moving images of primary and secondary real estate projects.
Some of ZipMatch’s 360 virtual reality service first movers are Ayala Land Premier, Amaia Land, Anchor Land, and Crown Asia, among others.

Founded in 2012 ZipMatch has so far received support from Monk’s Hill Ventures, Hatchd Digital, IdeaSpace Foundation, IMJ Fenox, and 500 Startups.
The Philippines was named as one of the SEA&#8217;s best performing markets in 2014 by global real estate consulting firm JLL Real Estate. And in 2015, JLL recognized Metro Manila as one of its top 30 real estate investment cities in the world in its Commercial Attraction Index.
JLL predicts that by 2030, Manila will be a top 18 city in the world in terms of city gross domestic product, having one of the highest economic momentum globally, along with Jakarta in Indonesia and Istanbul in Turkey.
