Philippine-listed power firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.aboitizpower.com">Aboitiz Power Corp</a> has appointed Robert McGregor as the company&#8217;s new executive director for investments.
McGregor, a British national, is also the senior vice president – chief strategy and investment officer (CSIO) at Aboitiz Power&#8217;s major shareholder, the local holding firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://aboitiz.com">Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (AEV)</a>. He also serves as director of <a style="color: #000080;" href="www.petnet.com.ph">PetNet Inc</a>, the largest <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.westernunion.ph/WUCOMWEB/signInAction.do;jsessionid=y_819j_dR4wyz_WmnSQuTFQ?method=load&amp;countryCode=PH&amp;languageCode=en&amp;countryCode=PH&amp;languageCode=en&amp;nextSecurePage=Y">Western Union</a> agent network in the country.
He was initially appointed as AEV’s senior vice president – chief strategy office until November 2014, when he was appointed as AEV’s CSIO.
McGregor, 55, brings with him a wealth of experience in management, investment banking and private equity investing with almost 34 years of experience in energy markets.
He also has extensive experience in corporate strategy, marketing and business planning in oil, gas and electricity industries in the United Kingdom.
McGregor moved to Hong Kong in 1997 and had an 11-year career in regional investment banking. He was a partner in Actis, a specialist private equity investor in emerging markets, before joining the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited as an investment banker.
He has honours degree in Applied Chemistry from Strathclyde University, United Kingdom and Masters Degree in Business Administration from the same university.
