Fashion startup Pomelo has roped in a former RedMart executive as its chief financial officer, while UOB has hired an ANZ Bank alum to lead its digital team in Singapore.
Pomelo hires Jim Boland as CFO
Fashion omnichannel startup Pomelo has hired RedMart’s former CFO Jim Boland as its new CFO.
According to a statement, Boland will be building Pomelo’s financial infrastructure to drive profitability and growth across Southeast Asia. Boland has over 19 years of leadership experience in companies like Amazon, Dell and Alibaba-owned RedMart.
Boland’s appointment follows two recent senior hires made by the Bangkok-based startup.
In Q4 2018, Pomelo hired Cathriona Nolan as AVP of creative operations and Vorada Hiransomboon as AVP of buying. Nolan was previously at Burberry working on brand development and marketing, while Hiransomboon joined from Inditex where she was head of buying.
UOB hires Kristina Curtis for SG digital team
United Overseas Bank (UOB) has hired Kristina Curtis to expand its digital team in Singapore, according to a report by finewsasia.
According to the report, Curtis was hired as “managing director, regional head of engagement and group retail digital”. She previously worked for ANZ as customer analytics and digital for global wealth. She was also the chief digital officer at BT financial group.
The report adds that UOB last appointed Aaron Chia as the new head of its digital plus unit for wealth and lifestyle products. Chia joined UOB from Western Union.
