<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/preqin" target="_blank">Preqin</a> &#8211; a data and intelligence vendor for the alternative assets industry &#8211; has acquired controlling stake in <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.baxonsolutions.com/" target="_blank">Baxon Solutions</a>, a provider of cloud-based private equity monitoring tools. 
Baxon founders will maintain a minority holding post transaction.
Founded in 2003, Preqin is headquartered in London, and has offices in New York, San Francisco, Singapore, Hong Kong and Manila. Its products and services are utilised for managing investor relations, fundraising, marketing, and market research.
The two companies formed a strategic partnership in January 2015. The initial focus following this acquisition will be further development of Baxon’s portfolio management and investor reporting platform, as well as expanding into a number of other geographic regions.
“Our combined capabilities will help GPs benchmark their performance continuously and in real time while providing more comprehensive information to their LPs,” offered Paula Espana, the co-founder of Baxon.
Baxon PCMS provides clients with a tailored platform offering automated solutions for front and middle office tasks such as monitoring, analysing, benchmarking and reporting on portfolio company and fund performance.

With the private equity industry undergoing a period of increased reporting and greater complexity in terms of regulatory challenges, the integration of Baxon&#8217;s solution with Preqin&#8217;s data service and analytics offerings will enhance the value offered to fund managers in navigating these specific challenges
