Australian private equity firm <a class="tinymce-colortext" style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/stories/57553-57553/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Quadrant Private Equity</a> is targeting to raise $770 million (A$1 billion) for its Quadrant Private Equity No. 6, a vehicle that is expected to see a final close by the end of this year.
According to a report from Private Equity International on Thursday, the firm is in discussions with investors and looking to hold another “one and done” for the latest fund by Chrismas.
The fund comes only a year after it raised $746 million (A$980 million) for its fifth fund, its largest at that time, in August 2016. With the latest fund set to be a larger one, Quadrant will maintain its record of having every fund larger than its predecessor.
Quadrant, considered Australia’s top-quartile performing PE firm, is headed by Chris Hadley, Justin Ryan, Marcus Darville, Jonathon Pearce and Alex Eady. It is known to invest in companies in Australia and New Zealand across sectors including retail, healthcare, media, consumer foods and financial services.
Its current portfolio includes Fitness &amp; Lifestyle Group, Rockpool Dining Group, Experience Australia, Amart Furniture and HomeCare Holdings.
Last month, Quadrant had divested its majority stake in Australian pet supplies firm Real Pet Food Company to an Asian investor group that included Chinese PE Hosen Capital, Singapore investment company Temasek and China’s largest private agribusiness firm, New Hope Group.
In a deal that valued the company at $781.9 million (A$1 billion), Quadrant exited its 2015 investment that it had made alongside the founding Quinn family and the company management.
