Swedish gaming studio <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Resolution+Games" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Resolution Games</a>, the developer of augmented reality (AR) game Bait!, has closed a $7.5-million Series B funding round led by <a href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=MizMaa+Ventures" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MizMaa Ventures</a>.
According to an announcement by Resolution Games, the round was joined by new backers GP Bullhound, Fly Forever and David Helgason, founder and CEO of Unity Technologies.
Existing investors GV, Partech, Bonnier Ventures, Creandum and Sisu Game Ventures also took part in the round.
With the latest capital infusion, the company has now raised $13.5 million in total. Resolution Games said the financing will allow it to further grow and expand its portfolio of intellectual property (IP) for both virtual reality (VR) and AR. The company had recently launched the first-ever third-party developer app, Angry Birds FPS: First Person Slingshot, on Magic Leap.
&#8220;With the amount of interest we&#8217;re seeing from the industry around our titles, coupled with the exciting new platforms like the Oculus Quest coming to market, we foresee larger volumes of players and a viable multiplayer market. Needless to say, these are exciting times,&#8221; said Resolution Games CEO and co-founder Tommy Palm.
MizMaa is a California- and Hong Kong-based venture capital firm that specialised in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data venture investments.
