Sydney-headquartered fund of funds manager Roc Partners is seeking to raise $100 million for its fourth Asia fund, according to its SEC filing.
The investment manager has so far raised $36 million for Roc Asia Pacific Private Equity Fund IV LP from one investor, the filing showed.
Roc Partners was created following the management buy-out of Macquarie Group’s private markets business unit in June 2014.
The alternative investment manager was reported to have closed its third Asia fund at $130 million earlier this year, short of its $300-million target. Its second fund, the 2012-vintage Roc Asia Pacific Private Equity Fund II, was closed at $220 million.
Roc Partners has been investing with over 100 private equity managers throughout the Asia Pacific Region and offers Australian and Asia-Pacific pooled investment funds. It has also made over 100 co-investments and secondary investments across the Asia Pacific region.
According to its website, it has so far deployed over A$4.4 billion ($3.1 billion) in capital. It has injected over $750 million in co-investments and another $530 million in secondaries across the region.
Its limited partners include Australian pension funds, insurance funds, sovereign wealth funds and family offices.
