<a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=SkyLake+Investment">SkyLake Investment</a> has invested 60 billion won ($54 million) in <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Yanolja">Yanolja</a>, South Korea’s leading online-to-offline motel-booking app operator.
Yanolja started providing accommodation information and travel content in 2005, and it currently has more than 30,000 motels and guesthouses in and out of Korea on the platform. The company posted revenues of 68 billion won last year and expects to grow more than 100 per cent this year.
&#8220;This investment attraction has proved Yanolja&#8217;s continued growth potential, which is providing accommodation services innovation in all areas, both online and offline. We will prove our competitiveness in the global market as well,&#8221; Yanolja CEO Lee Soo-jin said.
It plans to use the latest proceeds to offer its services via a PC version, in addition to a mobile app, and expand its footprint in the global market. Its services include Yanolja Accommodation, Yanolja Dangil (same day bookings), and Yanolja Pension.
SkyLake, a venture capital and private equity fund in Korea, was founded in 2006 and is led by former telecom minister Jin Dae-je. Prior to this round, Yanolja secured more than 20 billion won funding from multiple investors.
