SE Asian unicorns turn to in-app advertising to shore up revenues

While announcing its annual results for 2019, Amazon pegged ‘Others’ as generating revenue of $14.1 billion, up nearly 40 per cent from $10.1 billion in 2018. While Amazon shied away from specifics, it openly acknowledged that advertising for brands on its platform comprises a huge chunk of ‘Others’.
