Private equity firms are seriously eyeing the ASEAN region as the fever for investing in China has ebbed, opined panellists at the Asia PE-VC Summit on Tuesday.

Strong tailwinds such as an emerging middle class and strong digitalisation drive have offset major limitations like the fragmented nature of the market, said executives at a panel discussion titled ‘What makes PE investors bet on SE Asia’s macro story?’ at the summit organised by DealStreetAsia on September 27-28.
